OUR HISTORY

For over 60 years, Friulmac has been a leading force in the woodworking machinery industry. Driven by a passion for innovation and a pioneering spirit, they have consistently designed and developed machinery that adapts to the ever-evolving needs of the market. This dedication has earned them a solid position as a global leader, exporting their “Made in Italy” equipment worldwide.

Friulmac’s story is one of vision and dedication. They have always looked beyond the horizon, anticipating industry trends and developing solutions that meet the demands of a changing world. Today, they stand as a pillar of the industry, embodying the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with Italian manufacturing. Let’s rewind and explore the path that led us to where we are today:

1955

The post-World War II period witnessed the establishment of numerous companies in the woodworking sector in the Manzano area. Thus was born the industrial district called the Chair Triangle. The Renzo Novello and F.lli., a company specializing in tool sharpening, is established.

1961

The Novello brothers formed the Fratelli Novello S.p.A.a company that manufactured painting and woodworking machinery.

1979

At the end of the 1970s the Chair District saw unprecedented widespread wealth. FRIULMAC S.r.l. is founded by the Novello brothers which soon became a joint-stock company.

1981

FRIULMAC patents the first automatic loader for molding machines. It differs from traditional loaders as the stack is placed laterally to the loading point.

1990

Built in the 1990s, the “Big Chair” of Manzano was a reproduction of the “Marocca” model, a chair emblematic of the ancient Friulian artisan tradition. It was placed in Manzano to represent the symbol of the Chair District.

1995

FRIULMAC S.p.A. moves to the new headquarters in Pavia di Udine. Here it has a space of over 6000m2 available for the design and production of machinery and large lines for woodworking.

1998

FRIULMAC is expanding and landing in the USA. A new operational headquarters is opened, FRIULMAC Inc. is born and will allow greater commercial development throughout the American territory.

sede friulmac ripresa aerea

2001

Following the planned development, work began on expanding the technical and commercial departments by over 1000 m2. and the production department of over 2000m2 which, adding to the existing ones, bring the covered surface area to approx. 10,000 m2. on an area of over 25,000 m2. of building land.

2016

Given the strong demand for machining centers, a new division, FRIULMAC TECHNOLOGY, has been created for the design of numerical control machines for small and medium-sized businesses.

2019

Over 11,000 m2 are added to the current ones for a total of 36,000 m2 and a production area of over 15,000 m2. With the acquisition of the adjacent warehouse, FRIULMAC speed up the production phases by adding new spaces by separating the machine tools from the production department.

2022

FRIULMAC champions sustainability with eco-friendly coolants. These plant-based solutions deliver a triple win: better quality machining, a healthier workplace for operators and a smaller environmental footprint. This innovation proves businesses can prioritize efficiency, worker well-being, and environmental responsibility simultaneously.
